From Russia with Love of CANDY!

Put on your babuschka and enjoy these beautiful individually wrapped chocolates from a little Russian deli in Fairfax, Va. My sisters and I stopped in to peek around after we ate lunch at Curry Mantra.
It was fun to pick and choose because the labels are all in Russian. Haha. Can you tell we are part Polish? The little girl on one wrapper looks just like my sister and even Cody when his hood is up.
I feel like my mom was with us. The three Wheeler sisters spent the day sorting through some of her treasures dad set aside for us. I can't believe she has been gone 6 years alresdy, but she is with me everyday.

skuing around: Elegant Stand Alone Paper Hearts - the easy way

This is an easy craft I did with some supplies you may already have around your office or craft area.

Supplies:
- Long Strips of cover stock paper. You can use text weight but I find the heaver weight holds up better.
- Stapler, Staples
Time: a few minutes, after gathering supplies

I used some leftover strips of cover stock paper. These strips happen to be 12.25"x2" and 17"x1.5" light brown craft cover stock. Really any size strip of paper will do.

Fold in the ends till they meet. This is the only tricky part. Then pull it out enough to staple. The closer to the edge of the two ends the wider and more shallow the heart. I provided two images for this part.

Once the ends are stapled, crease the opposite end of the strip to fold the point of the heart.

Voila! This heart is adorable on its own or make a few and staple them together to form a cluster of hearts.

Ideas for uses:
- Cluster of hearts and a few singles would make a darling table setting.
- Write names on the strips before stapleing for place settings.
- Place around your house on shelves to spread the holiday cheer.
- Use as a gift box topper instead of a ribbon. Write the recipients name on the heart in place of a tag.
- Hole punch the sides and string them up for festive garland. Test a few out to make sure they are weighted to hang properly.

neat pillow

I love this textured pillow from Presser Foot. I am thinking I may try this one out and submit it to the VA State Fair home goods competition this year. I think they could use some modern entries.

For the Dads - 2010

I wanted to do something nice for TJ that would reflect to him what a wonderful Father he is. What better way than show him how wonderful his son is. Mushy gushy I know. In addition to giving this collection of photos to TJ, I wanted to have it neutral enough to send a copy to my father and TJ's father. So thus the "Adventures of a little boy." was created. Enjoy this little glimpse into Cody's world.

comments = love

We just aren't feeling the love. ;) We would love to hear more from you if you are reading the blog. Your comments don't have to be gushy, just let us know you stopped by. I'd love it to be a two way conversation. We are going to make the blog private soon and it will require a pass code to view. Which will be the same as the ucciardisliketoparty.shutterfly.com password. So just e-mail TJ or I to get it.

We love you all!
